MICHELLE M. JAY

 Michelle Jay practices primarily in the areas of divorce and child custody. Michelle understands the difficult and emotional process involved in family law matters. She provides compassion to her clients while also protecting their legal rights. 


Michelle grew up in the Iowa City area before moving to Des Moines for law school. Prior to attending law school, Michelle received her B.A. in Ethics & Public Policy and International Studies from the University of Iowa. In 2018, Michelle received her J.D., with honors, from Drake University Law School. Michelle also received a Public Service Certificate. During law school, she was the Research Editor of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law. 


Michelle started working for Flanagan Law Group in 2018. Prior to joining Flanagan Law Group, Michelle was a student attorney at the Drake Legal Clinic and Iowa Legal Aid. As a student attorney, Michelle represented clients in family and probate matters. She also clerked for several firms in Des Moines and at the Iowa Attorney General’s Office in the Department of Human Services. 


Outside of the practice of law, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
